Here’s my Top Ten National Hunt Racehorses of all time. I’m always happy to debate these, so feel free to send me your favourites & a reason why they should make my list.

Arkle – Born in Ireland in 1957, Arkle is widely regarded as one of the greatest steeplechasers of all time. He won the Cheltenham Gold Cup three years in a row from 1964-1966, and set several course records in the process. His pedigree includes Archive and Bright Cherry.

Kauto Star – Born in France in 2000, Kauto Star won the Cheltenham Gold Cup twice and the King George VI Chase a record five times. He was known for his impressive jumping ability and stamina, and his pedigree includes Village Star and Kauto Relka.

Desert Orchid – Born in the United Kingdom in 1979, Desert Orchid won the Cheltenham Gold Cup and the King George VI Chase four times each. He was known for his impressive speed and agility, and his pedigree includes Grey Mirage and Flower Child.

Red Rum – Born in the United Kingdom in 1965, Red Rum is the only horse to have won the Grand National three times. He was known for his ability to run over long distances and tough courses, and his pedigree includes Quorum and Mared.
