300 Shields is an Ancient Greece-themed slot game, paying homage to the 2006 blockbuster film “300”, where King Leonidas bravely led 300 Spartans into battle against the Persian God-King Xerxes.
It operates across 25 win lines, which you can bet from 0.01 to 0.50 per line on (25p up to £12.50 per spin).
The game itself isn’t known for paying massively during the Base Game, but it has some serious potential in the Bonus Game, when you can play rounds of Free Spins and build a win multiplier up to 300x.
I played 300 Shields for a Bonus Challenge on my youtube stream, spinning over 2250 spins (mostly at 25p, with the last 250 at 50p). I managed to bonus it 16 times, and reach 11 shields twice during those bonus rounds.
I found the game to be immensely enjoyable, but an expensive game to play for an extended period. It rinsed £170 off me in this challenge. Playing well for a large part of the way, it was when I passed half-way in my challenge, it began to eat my balance up.
The Base Game itself doesn’t pay too many large wins. I think I managed a couple of £2.50 wins at 25p, and a single £7.00 win at 50p during all of those 2000+ spins. No, this game relies on the Bonus to pay out, and it can certainly do that, when you reach the 25x and elusive 300x rounds.
You can see from my video that most of the bonus games I played paid very little, with only a couple returning good bonus wins. My largest bonus round paid £49.81 (199x) for a 25p stake, which was quite decent. I also managed another £39.27 win (157x). The rest of my bonus rounds returned from 5x to 50x, leaning towards the lower end of that scale mostly.
300 Shields is a great game, definitely one to try out. It’s graphically pleasing, yet simple in approach, but it will engage your attention throughout. It keeps the bonus games very exciting, and you know any reel spin can land you there.
It’s not a slot game I’d gamble on for extended periods though. It’s highly volatile, and it will rinse your cash if you aren’t careful. The returns can be worth it, should you be lucky enough to hit the game on a good day.
I’d advise you pop in, set a limit on losses beforehand, and give it a whirl. Should you hit a decent bonus, then you’ll get a good return. Should you be lucky enough to hit that 300x bonus round, you’ll certainly get paid, but anything above the 5x round can give a good return, 25x certainly can.
