Push Gaming have released their highly anticipated new slot, Mystery Mission To The Moon. Taking the original game mechanics of long time favourite Mystery Museum, Push Gaming have built on gameplay and extended the potential offered by the Mystery Stacks we know and love from Mystery Museum.
Incorporating the best parts of Mystery Museum, Push Gaming have expanded the reels from 5×3 to 6×4, ramping up the volatility and win potential. You feel the difference in gameplay almost immediately as the larger slot reels offer more smaller base wins as you spin and scary potential for huge wins too.
The win potential has grown and very obviously so, with the additional Mystery Stack (given 6 reels now instead of 5 on Mystery museum). Each Mystery Stack gives you an additional Free Spin during the Bonus, giving fair potential for additional spins.
Mystery Mission to the Moon also introduces an “Ante Bet Toggle” button (which I appear to have named a “doofer” for reasons known only to me). This is a 1st for Push Gaming, offering players a higher chance of triggering the Free Spins bonus feature for an additional 20% of their stake (eg 50p becomes 60p stake). This seems a very fair percentage for what it offers, giving another variable to how you can approach gameplay on this marvellous new slot.

You can land Mystery Stacks in the form of Portals that can nudge to fill the reel and reveal random symbols. The more Expanding Portals landed, the more matching symbols can be revealed for big wins.
Base Game – Wild Moon Symbol
Wild Moon Symbols are Scatter symbols that will activate the Free Spins Bonus once 3 or more land on the reel simultaneously. Land between 3 and 6 Wild Moon Symbols to win between 8 and 14 Free Spins in the Bonus game.
Bonus Game – Free Spins
When landing 3 or more Wild Moon Symbols you will enter the Bonus Game and have up to 14 spins to land Sticky Portals. In the Bonus Game, land sticky portals (mystery stacks) to reveal random winning symbols. Any portals that land will be nudged to fill the reel, generating even more matching symbols for bigger wins.
My experience of the game
I’ve played a little of Mystery Mission To the Moon today & found it a fun slot, with scary potential. Certainly it’s volatile (as my Zero Bonus in the following video will attest), but it has so much more on offer than Mystery Museum in terms of gameplay and win potential.
The additional reels (6×4 now instead of 5×3) drop a lot more small base wins, which allowed me much more spinning for my cash. There is scary potential in the base game for some great hits with 6 Mystery Stacks on offer and so many ways to win.
I bought some bonuses, which are on offer as follows:
- 3 Scatters / 8 Spins (Cost 103.5x)
- 4 Scatters / 10 Spins (Cost 163.5x)
- 5 Scatters / 12 Spins (Cost 240.50x)
- 6 Scatters / 14 Spins (Cost 336.7x)
Given it can drop Mystery Stacks on any spin those additional spins seem good value, but I think I’d happily spin this slot rather than buy it. As my video below shows, it can certainly give some fun in the base, with a bonus dropping fairly easily on occasion.
Conclusion
Push Gaming have created another long-term slot, one we’ll be playing well into the future. Like Mystery Museum this slot seems ageless, with potential and gameplay keeping it consistently interesting.
Mystery Mission To The Moon offers a little more. Some of the same, only different. Different enough that I’d not see it replacing Mystery Museum, merely giving us another slot of the genre to play regularly.
I’ll have no qualms about including this slot in my Bonus Hunts, it offers the “big hit potential” I like to see on my list. I’ll certainly partake of some of those Bonus Buys too, offering fairly decent value and a wide range of options to satisfy volatility needs.
I’ve always been a fan of Mystery Museum. It’s one of my go-to volatile slots. Having given me more zero bonuses than any other slot I’ve played, it’s also given me some massive bonus/base hits too. The uniqueness offered by gameplay has kept this slot fun for years. Mystery Mission To the Moon will certainly claim that too, offering all the same and much more besides.
